How can mindfulness and meditation help me?
Mindfulness and meditation have many benefits, including improved sleep, better focus, pain management, reduced stress and anxiety, increased self-compassion, heightened body awareness & increased patience.
In our instant gratification culture, it's easy to get distracted. Mindfulness helps us practice patience so it comes more easily when we most need it.

By learning how to be more mindful about what to think and when, we can help our brains function differently to reduce stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness builds compassion for ourselves and others by noticing self-judgement, letting it go, and bringing our awareness back to the present moment.

When we get distracted or too busy, we lose awareness of how our body is feeling. Mindfulness connects us to our bodies to release tension & pain and to improve sleep.

Welcome to Koru!
During this class, you will be introduced to the practice of mindfulness and learn 10 different techniques, including a variety of meditation skills, for managing stress and enriching your life. We typically meet 4 times, set a week apart, in order to try out the skills and come back the next week for feedback.
Welcome back to Koru!
During this class you will be reviewing some of the mindfulness skills you learned in your Koru Basic class and learn some new skills as well. Koru 2.0 is designed to help you to continue to develop your mindfulness muscle. We will learn some new techniques and aim to lengthen your meditation practices and get you more in the habit of living with greater mindfulness. We typically meet 4 times, set a week apart, in order to try out the skills and come back the next week for feedback.
Koru Retreat is a half-day silent retreat. The retreat is designed to be a useful experience for people who are brand new to mindfulness or for people who have already taken one or more mindfulness classes. We experience a variety of mindfulness techniques and can be easily tailored for your group's needs.

I create a wide variety of artwork for myself and for others. I think about what I want to bring into my life and then create a piece of artwork to put that thought or intention into view. I love painting rocks! Each rock has a unique energy and I like to engage people with rocks to help bring intention into their focus. What do you want to bring into your life? I love taking photos out in nature. As part of my mindfulness practice, I pay attention to detail and my surroundings.
