Who I Am
I started my mindfulness practice going to yoga in 2015 as I was transitioning careers and needed to find some peace. I tried going to meditation groups for a while but didn't really 'get it'.
I attended a weekend silent meditation retreat in 2017 to really dig in, where I learned about Koru Mindfulness, a program developed by psychiatrists Holly Rogers, MD & Margaret Maytan, MD to bring the benefits of mindfulness to the college students they worked with at Duke University. My background of being a middle & high school Spanish teacher drew me to the teacher certification program. I now teach Koru to all ages, sharing it's wisdom and simplicity. Mindfulness helps me be a better woman, mom, wife, and friend.
